"During this time you set up key partnerships on the Missouri River near Omaha, Nebraska, with the Nebraska Fish and Game Association and Douglas County sheriff's Office that allowed boat crews from Coast Guard Sector Upper Mississippi River (UMR) to patrol the Missouri River during major holiday weekends and large marine events.  Your expertise and local knowledge allowed sector UMR boat forces to quickly integrate with the local law enforcement agencies on the Missouri River to enforce the Coast Guard Recreational boating Safety mission.  As a result of your dedication and professional planning, Coast Guard active duty boat crews were able to provide over 30 underway hours on the Missouri River during Memorial Day Weekend and July 4th Weekend.  Notably, these patrols resulted in over 10 boarding's and over 20 vessel spot checks that resulted in 3 vessel terminations for inadequate safety equipment.  Furthermore, you expertly served as the Patrol Commander during the Harrah's July 4th fireworks, where you enforced a safety zone that ensure that all recreational boaters enjoyed the show safely outside the fallout zone.  Your continue efforts to provide safe boating on the Missouri River have directly saved many lives and exemplify your devotion to duty."
