For exceptionally meritorious service from January 2009 to March 2010 in support of the Arkansas River Aerial Mapping team.

Citation (in part)

"On their own initiative, the team expertly devised and executed a detailed aerial guide map that documented the locations of all significant aerial and maritime landmarks along 171 miles of the Arkansas River.  By obtaining Google Earth satellite imagery the team superimposed critical data onto a base map which included river mile markers, locks and dams, bridges, facilities and power plants, important landmarks, aircraft hazards, and location latitude & longitude positions.  The resulting map merged valuable aerial, maritime, and terrestrial data into one comprehensive quick reference document.  The map greatly aids communication between aerial assets and sector Lower Mississippi River assets by quickly and accurately identifying positions for evaluating and responding to maritime casualties and security incidents along the mostly remote Arkansas River.  Your mapping effort has already saved Sector Lower Mississippi River's Command Center invaluable time while coordinating response operations for incidents on the Arkansas River."
