Introduction to Reports:

The column "Total" under "Class I Private Aids" is the number of Class I private aids.

The PAtoN numbers will be updated when D8(oan) issues the 2004 list (anticipated by the end of March). Any new Class I PAtoNs established in 2003 will be added. No significant changes are expected.

The Auxiliary data count and control is by Light List number. Therefore, in the case where one ATONIS number is assigned to multiple aids with different Light List numbers, there will be a difference between the analysis shown here and a similar analysis using Coast Guard ATONIS data.

The column "Total" under "Bridges" is the number of bridges as of January 2004 less any bridges which were "Removed from the Light List" since January 2004.

The column "Verified" is a count of the private aids and/or bridges which have been verified in 2004 and, for which, copies of the completed verification work sheets were sent to the DSO-NS.

Please note: The "verified" count will not equal the count verified by the Auxiliary as shown in the Coast Guard ATONIS database. In a calendar year, only one credit can be given for verifying a private aid. If a cutter verifies a private aid before it is verified by the Auxiliary, the cutter gets the credit in ATONIS. However, the Auxiliary division does get verification credit on this tracking / status report.

Note: A detail status list of the Class I private aids and the bridges for each area of responsibility (AOR) can be viewed by clicking on the AOR description in the column "Waterway, River or Lake". These detail status lists show the actual date and the results of the last verification for each Class I private aid and bridge in the AOR. These lists are opened in a separate window from this page so it is not necessary to repeatedly hit the "Back" button to return to this page. Users are asked to submit corrections and/or questions about the data shown by sending a note to the 8WR DSO-NS  Mike Stanley at mstanl1@juno.com.
