PATON Spotcheck Assignments
And
Inspection Summary
Reports
 for 2008

The verification of Private Aids to Navigation (PATON) procedures has changed.   Instead of annually verifying "ALL" PATONs, District 8 now randomly selects a limited amount of PATONs to be visually confirmed.  The objective is to inspect aids that are continually discrepant or often discrepant based on history.

The lists of PATONs selected for spotcheck verification for 2008 are linked below by the Cutter name.  In addition to identifying PATONs to be spotchecked, the lists are also designed to be used as a vehicle for  reporting inspection dates and results.  To view the lists simply click on the respective Cutter name below.

View Chapter 22, Section 6, of the Aids to Navigation Manual-Administration, COMDTINST M16500.7 (series) for detailed information on the spotcheck process.
