 Using NOAA Form 77-5 (ANSC-7037)

"USCG AUX - NOS Cooperative Chart Updating Program"

Page last updated:
30 APR 2006

  1. All Auxiliarists are encouraged to submit chart updating information. The NOAA Form 77-5 USCG AUX. - NOS COOPERATIVE CHART UPDATING PROGRAM (ANSC-7037) is an excellent form for reporting chart updates. Your materials staff officer can order these forms from the ANSC using ANSC-7037 or you can access the form online.

  2.
  3. However, there are no NOAA / NOS charts available for the inland waterways in the Eighth Western Rivers Region and no reports should be submitted per the instructions on form 77-5. Do not send reports to NOAA / NOS.

  4.
  5. Be very thorough and accurate. In a majority of reports, diagrams, drawings and pictures should be attached.

  6.
  7. For updates related to the Coast Guard Light List, distribute the copies of the NOAA Form 77-5 as follows:

    • Original (Copy 1) and Copy 2 - For all aids except bridges, submit to the Coast Guard unit having responsibility for the area. Bridge reports should be sent to: Roger Wiebusch, Bridge Administrator, Western Rivers Operations(ob), 1222 Spruce Street (Room 2.107F), Saint Louis, MO 63103-2832.

    • Copy 3 - Send to ADSO-AN, who will process it further to DSO-AN.

    • Copy 4 - Distribute in accordance with your Division's established policy.  (Typically, this is sent to the SO-AN with a copy being sent to the FSO-AN.)  IMPORTANT: If the site about which you are reporting is outside of your Division's assigned AOR, then send a copy to the Division SO-AN in whose AOR the site is located.

    • Copy 5 - Is retained by the observer.

  8.

  9. For Army Corps of Engineers charts or other (state) agency chart updates, distribute the copies of the NOAA Form 77-5 as follows:
